At South Coast Barre and Pilates,
we take into consideration the whole body and mind and offer fun group classes that get your heart rate up to individual one on one sessions tailored to individual goals including recovery from a past injury.

Located in the beautiful Shoalhaven region in New South Wales, we have two locations – our Berry Pilates Studio and our Nowra Barre and Pilates Studio.

Mat Pilates is a series of exercises designed specifically to be performed on a mat. Joseph Pilates, the founder of the Pilates Method (which he originally called Contrology), developed mat exercises with the idea behind this was to challenge
your muscles in a variety of ways.
Pilates apparatus class
These classes train your way to a healthy body and mind. During each session you will work on mixed Pilates equipment including; Reformer, Tower, Wunda Chair, Mat and Small Props. A wonderful way to experience to the diversity Pilates has to offer from beginner to advanced.

Barre Pilates introduces signature moves that are informed by ballet conditioning and dance movements. Fun, functional moves for men and women, at every age. These moves improve balance, our sense of mind to muscle connection, proprioception (where the body is in space) and coordination - skills and strengths that enable strong, lean, healthy bodies at every age, for life.

MEET YOUR TEACHER
Jacqueline Shearing
With over 20 years of experience moving bodies my passion of Human Movement, stems from my childhood. From the age of five I spent time in the dance studio where I trained in Classical Ballet, Tap + Contemporary Dance. Having the privilege of training in a range of different modalities for all things movement has blended through into all of my classes as I teach a flowing style in several locations along the beautiful South Coast.
The natural progression from student to teacher led me to acquire formal qualifications including certificates then Diploma in Fitness. Pilates Certificates + Diploma in Clinical Pilates as well as Barre Certifications that allowed me to specialise in Rehabilitation whilst working alongside referring + respected Physiotherapists.
I furtherd my studies with Holistic Counselling + Meditation developing an understanding + deep appreciation of the importance but often overlooked balance between both mental + physical health.
For the past decade I dedicated my winters to the beautiful slopes of Big White Ski resort in Canada where I worked, trained and inspired others in the role as both a Snowboard Instructor/Coach, Snowshoe Guide + Youth Mentor.
Recently switching my snowboard for surfboard I am happiest by the water be it flowing or frozen..
I am doing exercises i never thought i would be able to do and all because of my fabulous teacher Jacquie. Jacquie has guided me from being a total novice to now feeling confident with challenging exercises. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
